04-08-2012 - Bill Stephens Death

Sent: Sunday, April 08, 2012 1:39 PM
Subject: Bill Stephens died on Friday

Bill had liver cancer, and had struggled with it for several months. I talked to his wife, George Ellen, Saturday am. She would like me to say a few words in eulogy at the funeral next Saturday in Mesa. I'd like to include your thoughts, remembrances, etc. Please send to me by thursday night. I will be busy on Friday at my Sis-in-Law's funeral. She died last Thursday. My brother Brad almost died 2 weeks ago. It's been pretty tough the last couple weeks.
I did spend last Christmas Eve with Bill and George Ellen. And had a chance to do a little more talking in depth about his travels and military service. He also participated in some of the planning for the 40th McC reunion. George Ellen is Bill's second wife, they were married 10 years. He had two children in his first marriage, I don't know if they will be attending. Bill's father lives in Tempe and will be attending.
George Ellen explicitly told me to invite McC classmates. So please attend if you can, and if you think others may be interested, feel free to forward this information.
